Geraldton Senior High School opened in 1939 and has a long history, steeped in tradition, providing an education for students from across the Midwest region. There is a Department of Education residential college located close to the school which allows students the opportunity to come to the school from distant areas such as the Pilbara.
In 2021, the school will complete its transition from a Year 10-12 senior college to a Year 7-12 mainstream senior high school. For the first time in over 20 years, students will be able to complete their entire secondary education at our school.
The school provides a broad comprehensive education with pathways leading to attainment of an Australian Tertiary Admission Rank (ATAR), Vocational Education and Training (VET) qualifications and future employment. Students are encouraged to participate in a wide range of extra-curricular activities on offer including music, drama, dance, STEM and sport.
