Baynton West is a new suburb of Karratha in the Pilbara region of Western Australia. In the local Aboriginal language, Karratha is said to mean ‘Sacred Earth’. Baynton West Primary School opened as an Independent Public School in 2013, the successful application was written in conjunction with the newly appointed principal and the families who lobbied to get the school built earlier than originally scheduled.
